How it began
I'm Damond Outing — a Charlotte native, the eldest of nine, and the founder of Outing Wealth Strategies.
Growing up, I learned early what financial pressure feels like. There were stretches without electricity or running water. Times we lived out of a hotel. Seasons when food was tight. But through all of it, my family held together — and that bond is what carried us through every storm.
As the oldest of eight younger siblings, stepping up was never optional. I learned to be the help wherever I could. And somewhere around the time I was 17, something clicked: there was a whole world of money and finance my parents were never taught — which meant it was never passed down to me, either. That gap wasn't anyone's fault. But it was real, and I decided to close it.
So in 2017, I started teaching myself. I dug into how money actually works, how the markets move, and the strategies people use to build and protect what they've earned.
In 2022, I took it further and stepped into the financial services industry. I spent time inside larger organizations and kept running into the same thing — a one-size-fits-all approach that tried to fit people into products instead of building around their real lives. That never sat right with me. So I went independent, because no one deserves a cookie-cutter plan when their future is on the line.
Every step since has been about one thing: becoming the kind of guide my family and I needed back then. I've kept expanding my education and credentials so the people I serve get more than good intentions — they get someone who has done the work.
That's why Outing Wealth Strategies exists. Not to sell. To teach, to serve, and to help everyday families build a better quality of life — starting with the information they were never handed.
